I heard a news article on the radio today about Russian spies being caught in America and was astounded. Not because the Americans had managed to catch Russian spies, but by the very fact that there were any spies left to catch! Didn't the James Bond school of spies die with the Cold War??? I mean, I know that Hollywood are still making the films, but surely they couldn't be based in any type of reality, could they?
The happy, irrelevant thoughts of a woman living in a small town in the Scottish Borders. Guaranteed to make you smile, or at least make you thankful that you don't have as many voices in your head as I do!

Welcome to Facebook!
Wow! I'm loving this! There's a whole new world out there on Facebook......
Okay, so I may be getting over-excited about this, but Hey - why not? In the week or so since my first blog, I've been running around on the net (virtually, of course, no actual calories burned!), discovering all sorts of fun stuff that I'd only ever heard about before. And it's SUCH GOOD FUN!!!
My first stop was Facebook. It was simplicity itself to open an account and log-in.
I immediately sent friends request (easy to do - there's a button beside each persons name which says "request as friend") to each of my two brothers, one living in Holland, and one living about three minutes walk away from me. The next step was to search through their "friends" lists and post friends requests to be friends with people I already know. This included our cousins, and a few family friends.
So far, so good.
And then it started getting a bit weird........

Maiden Blog
Hiya Peeps!
I've spent hours and hours over months and months daydreaming about getting connected to the Internet at home. Finally it's happened - I'm connected! I can write almost as much as I can talk - maybe even more, and the world can read me (if it chooses to, that is!). So I'm going to share my experiences, opinions and views with whoever is interested. My broadband connection is only two days old, and very glitchy so far, and this is also my maiden blog (that works on two levels, 'cos I actually am a maiden, though in the gender, not the biblical , sense, and I'm not even going to start with the whole age thing!) and I'm still setting-up my page, so it may be a bit of a bumpy ride, but Hey! - hang on!
Having the choice between giving myself time to familiarise myself with Blogger and blogging, or jumping-in at the deep end, guess what I decided to do???!.......
